Old Delicious Apple Brandy Awarded 89 Points

Old Delicious Double Bourbon Barreled Apple Brandy was recently awarded 89 Points “Very Good/Strong Recommendation” from the Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Old Delicious is a revival of an old Hood River Distillers small batch recipe and begins as Pacific Northwest apples, which are crushed, fermented and distilled according to Old World methods at Clear Creek Distillery.  The Apple Brandy is then twice rested in first fill Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Barrels. A nod to the history of the Hood River Valley, Old Delicious celebrates the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

Since 2010, the Ultimate Spirits Challenge (USC), has been the world's most prestigious global spirits competition. This year proved to be the eleventh consecutive year of record entries from more than 45 spirit-producing nations.

Says UBC Founder and Judging Director F. Paul Pacult, "This year's USC was the most international, with a dazzling array of quality distillates from as far away as Indonesia, India, and Iceland. Virtually all categories saw substantial gains in submissions, in particular, American whiskey, Ready-to-Drink cocktails, gin, and all brandy categories.

"Since producers enter their best marques into USC, it's clear that they look to us for the most accurate and unbiased data in the industry. We look forward to USC 2021!"
